It is with sadness that I share with you the passing of Prof. James T. Goodrich yesterday after suffering from the Covid-19 infection.
James Goodrich served his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War, and after returning home he received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Irvine and his M.D from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency training in Neurosurgery at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and the New York Neurological Institute. He served as the Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York City and as a Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
He will be remembered as the doyen of Craniopagus Surgery. He was nominated for the Dandy Medal and was in line to receive it within the next 3 years. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and neurosurgeons around the world, many of whom considered him a teacher, mentor, and colleague.
